At Fly UAS we provide industry leading UAV/RPAS training to our students right across Australia. We aim to make our CASA approved training course which allows you to obtain your UAV controller certificate or remote pilot license (RePL) as entertaining and engaging as possible, whilst still being extremely practical. We have basic RPAS training as well as type training on our RPA Operators Certificate and can have you trained for your Remote Piilot License (RePL) in just 5 days. Our controllers and instructors are all certified commercial pilots with decades of industry experience, in both aviation and UAV operations.
The first involves passing an aviation license theory examination – at a minimum level of a Private Pilot License (PPL) theory examination – and completing appropriate UAV training afterwards. The second method, known as the Remote Pilot Certificate, is a faster and more tailored training course that only tackles essential aspects of UAV Flying. At Fly UAS, we offer both methods so you can choose which pathway suits your situation and goals the best.
Keep in mind that if you want to be a certified UAV controller for commercial purposes, you’ll also have to apply for a UAV Operators Certificate, which is different from a UAV Controllers Certificate.
Our Remote Pilot License (RePL) course can be completed in as little as 5 days, making it the perfect RPAS training launch pad for beginners and individuals who want official certification quickly. This course covers both theoretical and practical aspects of flying drones and UAVs, involving three days in the classroom discussing theory and two days on-field with hands-on piloting.
You’ll also have the option of adding fixed wing and multi-rotor flying permissions to your license, which will add only two days of extra training to your course. Our team can also tailor the practical component of your training course to suit any particular flying activities you’d like to focus on (e.g. aerial photography, surveillance, etc.) In addition to this Fly UAS also offers certification on heavy lift systems up to 25 kilograms.
If you already have a Private Pilot License or completed an aviation theory license exam, we can provide manufacture training that will let you obtain a UAV Controllers Certificate. Once you’ve completed our manufacturing training course, all you need to do then is log 5 hours of UAV flight time to get official certification. You can log this 5 hours of UAV flight time under our supervision or on your own.
We also offer training for obtaining the Aircraft Radio Operators Certificate of Proficiency, if this is something you’d like to add to your list of certifications, as we pride ourselves on providing comprehensive RPAS training.
If you’re planning to use an RPAS or unmanned system for commercial or business purposes, you’ll have to obtain a RPA Operators Certificate (ReOC). This certification is more complex than a Remote Pilot License, involving more requirements and a longer approval process (depending on your operations). The main requirement involves the submission of a comprehensive Operations Manual, which details a variety of factors involving risk and safety in your proposed operations.
At Fly UAS, we can assist you in preparing your Operations Manual as well as your application for a RPA Operators Certificate (ReOC). Over the years, we’ve helped many companies and individuals obtain their RPA Operators Certificate, and we’ve developed a strong expertise in getting certification for commercial purposes, providing experienced RPAS training.
Through our services provider and partner company – National Drones, We can provide you with any other Drone related services you may need, such as aerial photography, aerial survey, asset inspection, thermal imagery and surveillance using one of our fleet of multi-rotors or fixed wing aircraft. You have the option of completing the theory component of the Remote Pilot License (RePL) RPAS Training course certificate via our engaging online course. While this may seem daunting, our presentations have been set up to give you the best possible content, while remaining fun and interactive at the same time. You have the option to contact an instructor at any time during the course as well.
Our face to face courses are delivered in co-operation with Bob Tait’s Aviation Theory School, at Redcliffe Aerodome. Bob has been teaching theory to commercial pilots for over 30 years and is one of the best in the business when it comes to creating and delivering content.
Our complete online theory course has been designed to ensure that our delivery of content is entertaining, practical and engaging from start to finish. Our aim is to provide a complete e-learning solution to deliver the theory component of the Remote Pilot License (RePL).
All of our RPAS Training lessons are created in house, with an emphasis on images and animations to demonstrate concepts. We have also developed our own extensive study guide specific to UAV/Drone operations, which has been written in co-authored with Bob Tait of Bob Tait’s Aviation Theory School. This practical study guide has been turned into an electronic textbook, which can be completed on your computer, Ipad or android device.
Our friendly instructors are always available to answer any questions by either Skype or phone during your studies. You can view a demonstration of our Study Guide for Remote Pilots or Online Lessons for RPAS training on our Online Remote Pilot License Course Page
Students attending one of our face to face courses will also receive access to our online course at no extra charge. This can be used for revision of course notes and lessons, or even for pre-study. This course has been designed to be a one stop place for all resources that you will need to be a safe UAV operator.
All our RePL course material is located within a learning management system and assessments are in the form of multiple choice exams and are undertaken once each module is completed.
While obtaining your Remote Pilot License (RePL), instant feedback is given on correct and incorrect questions and worked answers are included where possible to ensure that you understand why the answer may have been incorrect.
The structure of the lessons follow the same format as our in class presentations, so you can be sure you aren’t missing any information. Another valuable tool is the resources which are provided in each lesson. Anytime there is a regulation referenced, or a map for example, that map or regulation is included in the resources section of the player so that you can go and take a look at it yourself and spend time understanding it.
We tailor our e-learning Drone training to suit your needs. We understand that people have busy schedules and may not able to take 5 days away from other commitments. Please contact us for the perfect learning solution for you.
